REACH

  • Antalis and the REACH Regulation

The REACH Regulation provides that all chemical substances that are produced in amounts greater than one tonne per year, may only be marketed within the European Union if they have already been pre-registered or registered. Antalis Packaging produces no chemical substances. We only sell products that are "products" or "preparations" within the meaning of the laws governing chemicals and cannot be defined as substances (Article 3 Definitions). According to the provisions of the REACH Regulation, Antalis Packaging is a "downstream user" and dealer and not subject to any registration requirements.
However, in its own interest and in the interest of our customers, we are in dialogue with our suppliers to ensure that all products delivered are registered as REACH compliant. We can assure that all relevant Antalis Packaging suppliers have confirmed the pre-registration of the related chemical substances.
Moreover, we can confirm that we have not received any notice from our suppliers that "substances of very high concern" (SVHC) featuring on the so-called candidate list published by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) (last extension on 19/12/2012) are to be found in concentrations above the permitted levels in the products supplied to you.
If there are changes in this regard, we will also in future comply with the statutory obligation to provide information under Article 33 of the REACH Regulation.
